Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love watching scary movies, figuring out my costume and decorating the house. This year I came up with this easy party tray that you can make and use for a table piece or to take to a Halloween party. You can get most of the items you need from the dollar store and it will only take about 10 minutes to make.
I purchased a skeleton garland for $1 from Dollar Tree, a small metal serving tray from Dollar Tree, a small wooden coffin that lights up from Michael’s for $1.50 and and some candy. In addition to those items you will need scissors and super glue or a glue gun.
First you will need to remove the string from the skeletons and cut the loops off at the top of their heads. Then you will need to bend the arms at the elbows to make sure that they have bend in them. Once you have prepared the skeletons then you simply appy glue to the bottom of the skeletons feet and glue them to the tray in a rectangular shape with enough room to fit the coffin in their arms. Glue one at a time. I tried super glue first and it was sturdier but took longer to dry. I had to hold the feet on the tray for a few minutes. The glue gun proved to be faster. Once you have glued the skeletons to the tray and the glue is dry then apply glue to each hand and hold the hand under the coffin until it has dried. Again, do one set of arms or skeleton at a time. It’s so quick and easy. When the glue is dry then add some candy to the tray. It;s so cute. Some modifications that I can think of would be to use a larger tray if you want. You could do chips on the tray or sandwiches. The coffin actually lights up with pretty cool at night. If you can’t find the same coffin at Michael’s then any small coffin will do. I saw some at Party City and some other variations of this one at Michael’s as well. Give it a try!
