Purple Appetizers

It was fun coming up with appetizers for my Prince party! I needed as much purple as possible, but also wanted everything to be delicious. You would be surprised with how many purple appetizers you can make.

Sliders

I made little cheeseburger sliders and while they were not purple, I found cute glittery music note cupcake picks and put one on each slider! You could use these picks on other things like cupcakes.

Dessert

I used small dessert plates and small plastic appetizer spoons for this. They were super easy. I cut pieces of pound cake and put them on the plates. I then took some coolwhip and added a bit of purple food coloring and put a nice size dollop on top of the pound cake. The coolship had a light purple tint. I then topped it with blackberries (which are dark purple). They were so good!

Blue Corn Tortilla Chips

This was so easy. Just buy a bag a blue corn tortilla chips and put them in a bowl. They have a purple/blue coloring. Serve with salsa or dip.

Meatballs

I made meatballs with grape jelly and chili sauce. You may have made these in a crockpot before. It is a popular recipe. I made mine on the stove in about 30 minutes. Take a bag of frozen Italian meatballs and defrost them in a microwave safe bowl for a bit. Don’t defrost them completely. In a saucepan add equal amounts of grape jelly and chili sauce. The amount you use will depend on how many meatballs you have. You want enough to cover them well and have some sauce. Heat the jelly and chili sauce until the jelly has melted and you can mix the 2 together to form a nice sauce. Then add the meatballs. Cover and let it simmer on medium low for 15-20 minutes. That’s it! The sauce turns out pretty purple.

Purple Yam Fries

These are also easy and so yummy. Take a few purple yams and slice them to form wedges or fries. Then lightly coat them in olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Bake in the over at 400 degrees until they are cooked and browned. Turn or toss half way through. You will end up cooking them for 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the pieces.

I hope you enjoy these ideas and come up with even more purple appetizers and desserts for your Prince party
